What stays on your device?
Image Format Changer reads selected files in your browser and uses browser image processing to prepare the output. The image-processing workflow does not send image files to our server. This is different from uploading a file to a remote conversion service and waiting for it to return a result. The website itself still makes network requests; analytics and advertising have separate privacy choices. Local processing does not mean the entire website is offline or that no network data is exchanged.
Convert a batch in three steps
Choose images or drop several files onto the canvas. Set the output format in the top controls: JPG, PNG or WebP. Then use Download all, or Download beside an individual image. Conversion happens as part of downloading; your browser may ask you to allow multiple downloads. Your source files are not overwritten.
Choose the format for the job
JPG is often suitable for photographs when transparency is unnecessary. PNG uses lossless encoding and supports transparent pixels, but can produce large photographic files. WebP supports transparency and adjustable quality. Original keeps a supported source format; GIF is exported as a still PNG. Renaming a file extension alone is not conversion.
Keep batch controls and exceptions separate
Top controls apply to rows that still use the defaults. Change an individual row when one image needs a different format, size, quality or background. Use its reset icon to return that row to the batch settings. Quality starts at No changes: when size and format also remain unchanged, the original file can be downloaded without re-encoding.
Know the limits before starting
Inputs are limited to 25 MB each. Resized or converted outputs are limited to 8192 pixels per side and 32 megapixels, and device memory may impose lower practical limits. Animation is not preserved through conversion or resizing. Re-encoding can remove metadata, so keep the originals. This tool does not currently offer HEIC, AVIF or SVG conversion.
