Convert MP4 to GIF without a watermark

Make a GIF from MP4 or WebM without uploading your video. Trim, crop, resize and choose frame rate and looping, then download free without a watermark.

Start with a short clip

Choose one MP4 or WebM video. Playback support depends on the codec your browser can decode, not just the extension. Videos over 200 MB show a warning, but smaller files can also exceed device memory. A short source is a useful starting point. Processing happens locally; the conversion engine downloads on first use, but your video is not uploaded.

Trim time, crop the picture

Drag the timeline handles to select the start and end of your GIF. The red playhead shows the video position; the toolbar lets you play, pause, step frames and set trim boundaries. Cropping is optional: enable the crop icon and drag the picture selection to keep a smaller area. Trimming chooses when the GIF starts and ends; cropping chooses what part of each frame remains visible.

Balance dimensions, frame rate and size

Try a five-second clip at 480 pixels wide and 15 fps. That is about 75 frames before encoding. A ten-second clip at 30 fps has about 300 frames, so it can require substantially more work even at the same dimensions. Output dimensions must be 1–1920 pixels per side and frame rate must be a whole number from 5 to 30 fps. Shorter clips, smaller dimensions and fewer frames usually reduce processing time and output size.

Preview and choose looping

The GIF preview follows the video while it plays. When the video is paused, the GIF preview can keep playing independently for inspection. The Looping switch controls repetition in the downloaded GIF; the timeline loop icon only controls video playback. With GIF looping off, the independent preview pauses on a loading screen before replaying. That pause is not included in the exported GIF.

Download and check the encoded GIF

Use the pencil to rename the output and click Download. No account, payment or added watermark is required. GIF has no audio and supports a limited color palette, so the encoded result may differ from the preview in colors, timing or smoothness. GIFs can be larger than the source video. Keep the original and check the final file; there is no saved project to recover after closing the tab.

Example: make a short landscape GIF

SettingStarting pointWhy
Trim2–7 secondsA five-second excerpt
Width480 px, dimensions linkedA 16:9 source becomes 480 × 270
Frame rate15 fpsApproximately 75 frames
AudioNot includedGIF cannot contain sound

These are starting settings, not measured output sizes. Compare the downloaded GIF with the source; the live preview is not a guarantee of encoded colors or timing.
